
Kongsberg Defence Systems and Norwegian Composite Centre cooperates
Norwegian Composite Centre (NSK) is engaged by Kongsberg Defence System (KDS) in a long term project. NSK will participate in developing new products for KDS. NSK will provide knowledge on materials and processes and will be an integrated part of the KDS-project team.

Successful project on Non Destructive Testing (NDT)
Norwegian Composite Centre (NSK) has just closed a very successful project on Non Destructive Testing (NDT). The project has been funded by Innovation Norway and by the project consortium.
NDT is a method for inspection of components without destroying the object. NDT techniques are used both for quality control in the production line and for inspection when used parts are maintained.

Norwegian Composite Centre (NSK) is working on a project for recycling of GFRP-containers from Ragasco AS
Up to now, there have been few alternatives for recycling of GFRP- products (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic). NSK has together with Sintef Raufoss Manufacturing and Ragasco AS been working on a project on recycling of Ragasco’s GFRP-containers for LPG.

Workshop on new standards for raw materials: Fibre-reinforced plastic composites — Declaration of raw material characteristics
Norwegian Composite Center will together with Standards Norway, FiReCo, Recihold and Norwegian Composite Federation arrange a workshop on the hearing on the new draft standards Fibre-reinforced plastic composites — Declaration of raw material characteristics.

Norwegian Composite Center has done an assessment of a composite enterprise
NSK has, on behalf of an investor group, done an assessment of a composite enterprise. NSK did the assessment in a two week period in February. The assessment was done by a visit to the enterprise, interviewing the management of the enterprise and also visiting the facilities for small scale production.

Norwegian Composite Center made a speech on the Light weight metal conference in Norway
General Manager Iver Jensen made a speech at the Annual Norwegian Conference on light weight metals at Geilo, Norway on the 11th February. The conference aims people that works in the light weight metals industry or do research on the subject.

Innovation Norway supports Norwegian Composite Center with funding of a NDT-project.
Norwegian Composite Center is starting up a project which will focus on Non Destructive Testing techniques. The project has a total budget of 3 750 000 NOK. Innovation Norway supports the project with 1 300 000 NOK.

Norwegian Composite Center has started collaboration with Salpro Composites in Fredrikstad
Norwegian Composite Center (NSK) and Salpro Composite in Fredrikstad has agreed on developing a new product based on the Sheet Molding Compound processes (SMC ). Salpro Composite is a small family run enterprise witch deliver composite products to a wide range of companies in Norway and Europe.

Norwegian Composite Center collaborates with Flexirampe
Norwegian Composite Center has signed an cooperation agreement with Flexirampe. NSK shall together with Flexirampe do a redesign of the side jamb. We will try to find new materials with more optimal properties.

Norwegian Composite Center visited Kongsberg
The board of Norwegian Composite Center visited Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace’s new composite factory at Arsenalet just outside the town of Kongsberg. The factory are the state of the art concerning production techniques and testing facilities. KDA are now starting up their production of advanced composite parts for aero planes and defense missiles in the new plant.

NSK signs cooperation agreement with Swerea Sicomp AB
Swerea Sicomp AB in Sweden and Norwegian Composite Center has signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement will open the opportunities for cooperation in projects between the two organizations.

New employees in Norwegian Composite Center
Norwegian Composite Center has now employed two new staff members, Ragnar Sandmark and Tomas Luksepp. Booth have more than 20 years of experience from the composite and polymers industry. They are both starting up on 18th of may.

Norwegian Composite Center shall participate in two large projects
Norwegian Composite Center is now about to sign a contract on two large projects with Nammo AS and the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment (FFI).

Norwegian Composite Center is employing new staff
Norwegian Composite Center has now been announcing for new employees that can work as project leaders. NSK is planning to employ two persons from summer 09 and then add up with more persons as long as the activity rises.
